Contras: Expensive ; requires dedicated picture tweaking to keep getting the very best out of it

Veredicto: After immediately warming our cockles with its impressively slender design and eye-catching Ambilight system, the Philips 47PFL9664H/12 blew us away with one of the best all-round AV performances we've seen from any LCD TV to date
